What's The Best Way To Drain My Spa?

I get a lot of questions regarding which type of pump is best to use for their pool covers and draining their spas. I personally like the Little Giant series of submersible pumps. They have the"AA" series which is about the size of a softball and easy to handle. It pumps about 140 gallons per hour. It can be a little fragile so be careful how you handle it.

Next they have the Water Wizard which pumps 1500gph. Now that's fast for any job! Also they have the Water Wizard Automatic for those of you who don't want to watch the level and plug and unplug as necessary, this is a great option.

They do offer a few other model's but they would be overkill for what we need them for. There are other model's of pumps out there like syphon pumps that require no power but I'm looking to get the job done quick and easy.

As with any pump, do not let the pumps get entrapped in ice as this will damage the internals and void your warranty and please handle them with care.  I have been using the Little Giant pumps for years and I love them. You will too.

Until next time...
