Time To Order A New Pool Liner

It's almost spring time. Time to start thinking about that pool liner that needs changing. Whether you have an above ground or in-ground pool liner you will need to order your new liner. There are a lot of new designs out now so take your time and check out all the new patterns.

If you have an above ground pool the process is a little quicker. You just need to know if your liner is a beaded or an overlap liner. This means: Does your liner go all the way up and over the pool wall, or do you have a tile line pattern right near the top? Also is your pool height 48" or 54"? Most 48" liners will accommodate a 52" wall height, but you will need to tell your pool supply center or service company if you have a 54" wall. Always make sure you ask for a 20 mil above ground liner not a "filed" liner as the later is thinner and doesn't last as long in my opinion.

If you have an in-ground liner you will need to measure your pool completely. They use a system called A & B, your pool liner is measured from two different points (A & B) then measured to intersecting points all around the perimeter of the pool. These dimensions are sent to the liner company for a quote and specs. At this point you would have to choose a pattern and thickness of your new liner. They come in different gauges 20 mil, 27 mil, 30 mil or a combination of two different mills. Your installer can explain the differences to you once you decide on a pattern.

In both cases the order and lead time can be 2-3 weeks, and you will need to get on an installers list. If you start on the process now you can have your liner in stock and installed as soon as the weather is good and you will enjoy your pool that much quicker. Plus a lot of times you get a much better price shopping now because the service companies are looking to generate money as early as possible. They are hungry for work this time of year.

Until Next Time..
