Pool and Spa Chemistry is part of Summertime Fun!!

It's been a while since my last blog. A lot of family issues and busy working. By now everyone should be in full pool and spa mode, enjoying relaxing on the weekend. The kids are out of school now and what are we parents to do?

By this point you should be just maintaining the water and balancing the chemicals. Hopefully all is going well. For those of you that are having problems remember to take a water sample to your local pool store so they can tell you exactly where the problem areas are and how to correct them.

As I have stated in previous blogs I am a big fan of Oxygen shock. You should be using this product once a week in your pools and every time you get out of your spa. This chemical will break down the in-organics in the water and allow the filter to gather them up, which will help the sanitizer work better.

Also with the extreme heat we have been having in the Northeast the Chlorine levels are harder to maintain. You made need to shock the pool more often in these conditions. After a big rain you may notice the pool getting cloudy. This can be caused by low Chlorine level or High PH, make your adjustments slowly adding only the minimum amount and allow the pool to run for a 1/2 hr before adding anything else.

Hopefully everyone is enjoying their summer so far and I will try to post more blogs regularly. Have fun!!

Until Next Time
