The Storm is Over. Baby Boomers are on Facebook , Are You?

Today is Sunday and the weather is beautiful here in NJ. We are drying out and the past weekend was a great one. I hope everyone made it through this storm with as little damage as possible. I lost my phone, internet, and cable for 4 days. I was one of the lucky ones that did not loose power very long. You don't realize how much you use the internet until you loose it. I didn't know what to do with my time.

I did a lot of reading and got to know my kids a little better. I'm back now and trying to catch up on all my e-mails. I did read a good article on who is using Facebook these days, and I found that more people 55 and older are on facebook now. In the first half of 2009 the number of Facebook users 55 and older grew by more than 500 percent according to analytic s company iStrategyLabs.

The internet has become a way of life now and the new way of doing business, people do not use phone books very much anymore, everyone I know just goes on line and searches for the information they want. They Google a key word to find a local contractor or product, and the race is on.

So the lesson I learned form the article was do your homework and learn what people are doing when it comes to the product or services they want and then get yourself there. I am creating my own web site www.fixmypoolandspa.com for all the people that want to find good pool and spa products at a great price. I am also using it to promote my service business for my local readers.

Until Next Time....
